If you prefer to catch your supper, there are hundreds of well-stocked lakes and rivers ready to be fished by avid anglers.

  • Historic Ashford Castle where many heads of state have stayed. Ireland's School of Falconry gives you the chance to fly a hawk around the spectacular grounds of Ashford Castle in a private Hawk Walk. There is also an Equstrian centre at Ashford Castle. Boat trips can be taken on Lough Corrib.

  • The magnificent 19th century Kylemore Abbey, now run by Benedictene nuns as a boarding school.

  • Killary fjord - the only one in Ireland. Cruises of the fjord can be taken from Leenane.

  • An 18 hole golf course is 15 minutes away.

  • Fishing on the lough with our own ghillie.

  • Shopping in Galway and Old Galway City. Lots of lovely pubs, restaurants and shops.

  • Cong Abbey ruins are very beautiful, if you are looking for peace and tranquility.
